Princeton Town Center is no longer just a proposed shopping center on a site plan. Construction activity is underway at the 66-acre development at U.S. 380 and Beauchamp Boulevard, Kroger has broken ground, the City Council has approved the final plat, and several retailers now have individual construction filings. Most of the first major openings are expected in 2027.
For Princeton residents who have spent years asking for more places to shop and eat closer to home, this is a significant change. The City’s 2024 resident survey found restaurants and retail among the areas residents wanted improved. The survey included 1,329 responses.
Where is Princeton Town Center?
The development is at 1000 W Princeton Drive, at the northwest corner of U.S. 380 and N. Beauchamp Boulevard. The location puts the project on Princeton’s main east-west corridor, across the highway from the existing Walmart area.
Which stores are coming?
Kroger Marketplace will be one of the major anchors. The nearly 100,000-square-foot store broke ground in July and is currently expected to open in late 2027. It is planned as more than a standard grocery store, with a pharmacy, expanded general merchandise, home goods and other Marketplace departments.

Current Town Center plans also identify Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods and PetSmart. Other names shown in the development include First Watch, Buffalo Wild Wings, Discount Tire, Murphy USA, Brakes Plus, Costa Vida, Mountain Mike’s Pizza, Feng Cha and several health and service businesses.
Some of those names have moved beyond a marketing plan. Texas construction records show separate registered projects for TJ Maxx and HomeGoods, both with work scheduled during 2027. A PetSmart tenant-improvement project was registered on September 23, with a planned 16,353-square-foot store.

When will it actually open?
Not everything will open at once. The developer’s current leasing material lists Phase I delivery for the third quarter of 2027, while reporting after the Kroger groundbreaking pointed to major openings later in 2027. Construction schedules can still change.
The larger picture is clear, though. Princeton Town Center is planned for more than 35 national brands, and the City estimates the completed development could generate more than $3 million a year in sales-tax revenue. For a city where residents have repeatedly asked for better shopping and restaurant choices, 2027 could look noticeably different from today.
